Update for 09-13 & 09-14-08
Weak high pressure built into Northern New England today behind the cold front that brought the showers to Maine Friday afternoon, and evening. The high produced a little sunshine across parts of Maine today, but low level moisture trapped in the atmosphere kept a far amount of clouds around our region as well. The weak high will drift off to our east tonight, and a warm front lifting back north into New England will bring a good deal of clouds to the area, along with some patchy fog.
On Sunday the combination of energy aloft moving into the Great Lakes, and a storm moving east along the warm front will bring showers back into the Pine Tree State. The bulk of the shower activity associated with the front, and storm will occur later in the afternoon, and evening. Moisture steaming northeast from "Ike" may enhance the rainfall across mainly northern parts of the state later Sunday night, and part of Monday as the storm quickly slides northeast through Northwestern New England. Showers will end later Monday, as the storm's trailing cold front pushes off to our east. A large dome of high pressure will slip east into New England on Tuesday, and Wednesday causing skies to become mostly sunny, with near normal temps.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, few scattered showers possible late, and patchy fog, with low temps in the low to mid 50s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, rather humid, showers, and scattered thundershowers likely, with high temps in the 60s to near 70.
Monday: Mostly cloudy, very humid, and rather blustery, with some showers, mostly north, and high temps in the upper 60s to mid 70s.
Tuesday: More sun than clouds, breezy, with high temps in the mid 60s to low 70s.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with high temps in the 60s to near 70.
