Update for 05-24 & 05-25-08

Post by Outspoken on Sat May 24, 2008 3:55 pm

Clouds stuck around in southern Maine a little longer than expected for Saturday. The upper level low that is departing to our east slowed down a little overnight. Rest assured though, as Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies and temperatures 5-7+° above where they were for the last few days. The drier air and lots of sun are ushered in on the back of a high-pressure system that will slide in from the Great Lakes tonight. The high is fast moving though and a cold front will be on our doorstep by Monday.

I know all eyes are on the Memorial Day forecast so I'll get right to it. Skies will start off partly cloudy, but by the early afternoon they will be overcast. Most parades will get off without a hitch and finish out nice and dry, but some parades in the far northern and western parts of Maine may encounter a few showers. Showers will be widespread across Maine by the evening, and there is a chance that we could see some embedded thunder as well. Showers will draw to a close by Tuesday morning.

Tonight: Becoming clear. Lows in the lower 40's. Wind N 5-10mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Warm! High 66-77°.

Monday: Increasing clouds. Rain by late afternoon. High in the upper 60's.

Tuesday: Early showers. Cloudy. High in the mid 60's.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. High in the 60's.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. High in the upper 60's.
