Update for 08-09 & 08-10-08

Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies brought a welcome relief from the week plus of rain. High's responded accordingly and shot back up within a few degrees of their average. Clouds aren't likely to redevelop tonight, so clear skies will let lows fall into to lower 50's. Due to moist soil and clear skies, dense fog will form in some spots overnight. Sun will stick around tomorrow, with an increase in clouds during the afternoon due to the instability in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Instability in the upper levels and additional instability from daytime heating will lead to isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some of these storms could be powerful, with high winds and small hail possible in a few of them. With that being said, these storms look like they will be hit or miss, so not all areas will see the rain. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid to upper 70's. We get back into the clouds again late Sunday and into Monday as another area of low pressure pushes its way into the northeast. Scattered showers and storms are a possibility Monday afternoon, but at this point it looks like widespread rain will not get here until late Monday night or early Tuesday. Rain could be heavy at times on Tuesday as the low makes it way through the Gulf of Maine along a nearly identical track to the previous storms that have brought us rain.

Sunday: Mix of sun and clouds. Showers and storms possible during the afternoon. High in the mid to upper 70's.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Chance of afternoon showers. High in the low to mid 70's.

Tuesday: Rain likely. Otherwise mostly cloudy. High in the low to mid 70's.

Wednesday: Gradual clearing. Chance of showers downeast. High in the upper 70's.

Thursday: Variably cloudy. High in the upper 70's.
