Forecast for evening of 12-28 & 12-29-07
From the TV5 Forecast Center:
A storm system is approaching from the west and will, affect our area later tonight. Until then expect mostly cloudy conditions. The snow will start early Saturday morning. Snow will continue, heavy at times, until the afternoon. During the afternoon any leftover precipitation in southern and coastal areas could switch over to all rain. Snowfall totals haven't changed much over the last 24 hours as it looks like we have this one nailed down pretty well. The north will pick up anywhere from 4-7'', Interior Maine will rake in anywhere from 3-5'' and coastal Maine will come in with 1-3'' of slushy and heavy snow. Things will wind down by Saturday afternoon, and by the evening skies will become partly cloudy. This will allow lows to fall into the lower 20's. Sunday looks like a good cleanup day with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies and high temperatures running in the low to mid 30's. Don't let Sunday's weather fool you though. It looks like we will be right back into the snow on Monday. Monday's weather maker is a coastal storm that has progressively tracked more north. Even though we take only a glancing blow, coastal storms have ample moisture and we could pick up a quick 3 inches. Another disturbance moves through quickly on Tuesday dropping another inch or so on us, then the weather looks to quiet down again on Wednesday.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Snow will start after midnight. Lows will fall in the upper teens and lower 20's.
Saturday: Snow likely. Snow could be heavy at times, and also could mix to sleet. High in the mid 30's.
Sunday: Partly cloudy. High in the low to mid 30's.
Monday: Snow possible. Mostly Cloudy. High in the upper 20's.
Tuesday: Snow possible. Skies clearing late. High in the upper 20's.
