Forecast for evening 01-06 & 01-07-08

From the TV5 Forecast Center:

High pressure centered east of the Mid-Atlantic Coastline will keep the Northeast mild the next few days, as southwest winds on the backside of the high continue to pump a milder than normal airmass into our region. The high will remain anchored at both the surface, and aloft to our southeast right through early Wednesday, and that will force a storm currently moving into the middle of the country northeast well up to the west of New England as it head up into South Central Canada Tuesday, and Tuesday night. The storm will then move east across Southern Canada Wednesday, and that will cause the storms trailing cold front to move east through New England. A period of rain showers, and blustery winds will develop throughout Maine, as the cold front crosses the region Wednesday afternoon.

Weak high pressure will bring slightly cooler, and partly cloudy weather back to the Pine Tree State on Thursday. A new storm will slide towards the Ohio River Valley early Friday, and clouds will be on the increase here, with a mixed bag of rain, sleet, and snow likely passing though Maine later Friday into early Saturday. A colder, and more seasonable airmass will return to New England by next Sunday.

Tonight: Lots of clouds, patchy fog, drizzle, and freezing drizzle, with low temps in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, patchy fog, and mild, with high temps in the upper 30s north, and lower to mid 40s south.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, few scattered rain showers possible, with high temps mostly in the 40s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, becoming blustery, scattered showers, and mild, with high temps in the 40s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, breezy, and cooler, with high temps in the upper 20s north, and 30s south.
