Forecast 12-31-07 (What a way to end the year.)
From the TV5 Forecast Center:
Periods of snow will wind down around midday today as an area of low pressure passes just south of Maine. Snowfall totals will be from 4-7'' in the north, 5-9'' for much of the coast and downeast with some areas of Hancock/Washington county picking up 9''+. Another coastal system will arrive Tuesday night. This new system has the potential to bring us several more inches of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. We finally settle down Wednesday night, but lows will be bitterly cold. Skies clear for Thursday, but it will be bitterly cold with highs only in the single digits to lower teens.
Today: periods of snow tapering off around midday then mostly cloudy. Some breaks in the overcast will be possible late in the afternoon mainly south and west of Bangor. High temperatures will top off between 24°-33°. Northeast wind 5-10 MPH becoming northwest.
Tonight: partly cloudy and cold. Lows between 7°-17°. Light and variable wind.
New Year's Day: morning sunshine giving way to increasing clouds. Snow showers possible late in the day. Steadier snow arrives at night. Highs in the upper 20s to low 30s. Light and variable wind.

Thursday: mostly sunny and bitterly cold. Highs in the mid-single numbers to mid-teens.
