Forecast 12-01-08

Post by Outspoken on Mon Dec 01, 2008 4:44 am

Precipitation should wrap up by about 9am, as a frontal system pulls away and allows drier air to build in. Areas north of a Skowhegan/Lincoln line will likely see precipitation end as rain, but cooler valleys could see either freezing rain or snow to round things out. The coast north to Skowhegan/Lincoln will have all rain. Travel to work and school this morning shouldn't be too bad, as roads are generally clear. Areas where roads could be slick are places north that see the freezing rain during the next few hours. Again, those likely areas will be from about Lincoln north. Winds will switch to the south during the early morning and bring even more warm air to our area. Highs will be in the upper 30's to upper 40's near the coast. With drier air moving in, clouds will become broken after sunset. The only area likely to keep the cloud deck will be the north. Lows will stay above freezing in most spots overnight tonight. Tuesday will start off partly cloudy to mostly sunny through most of eastern and central Maine, with some mountain flurries possible in the northwest.

Today: Rain/Mix ending early. High 39°-49°. Winds south at 5-10mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy south. Mostly cloudy north. Low in the mid to upper 30's. Winds south 10-15mph.

Tuesday: Becomes sunny. Some mountain flurries. High in the lower 40's.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. High in the mid 30's.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Chance of snow. High in the mid 30's.

Friday: Cloudy. High in the mid 30's.
