Forecast 10-15-08

Post by Outspoken on Wed Oct 15, 2008 4:07 am

A ridge of high pressure will build into New England today setting us up with a mostly sunny day. Today's high temperatures will top off a bit above normal with readings in the upper 50s to low 60s. High pressure will slide to our east tonight allowing clouds ahead of our next storm system to filter into the region. After a partly cloudy start, expect skies to turn mostly cloudy during the overnight hours.

Another weak cold front will cross the state on Thursday. This will give us cloudy skies with scattered showers throughout the day. The showers will wind down later in the day as the front moves off to our east. Drier air coming in behind the front will allow for some sunny breaks mainly over northern and western areas late in the day. Drier and cooler weather will return for Friday as a ridge of high pressure moves in from the Great Lakes. Friday will feature partly to mostly sunny skies with a gusty northwest wind. The northwest winds will usher a cooler airmass into the state with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s Friday afternoon. Sunshine will prevail for Saturday and temperatures will even be a few degrees cooler with highs topping off in the mid-40s to around 50°. Clouds ahead of an approaching cold front will slowly work into the state on Sunday.

Today: mostly sunny with increasing high clouds by mid-late afternoon. Afternoon high temperatures between 56°-64°. Light and variable wind.

Tonight: becoming cloudy. Lows between 39°-46°. Light and variable wind.

Thursday: mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Showers will wind down during the mid-late afternoon hours. Some sunny breaks developing late mainly over northern and western areas. Highs between 52°- 60°. Light winds will become southwest 5-10 MPH.

Friday: partly to mostly sunny. Breezy and cooler. Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Saturday: partly to mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-40s to low 50s.

Sunday: increasing clouds with highs in the 50s.
