Forecast 10-07-08
Strong high pressure will build into the northeastern U.S. today setting us up with a beautiful sunny day. There will be a few lingering clouds over eastern areas early this morning as a disturbance centered to our east continues to pull away from the region. A fairly tight pressure gradient between high pressure to our west and low pressure to our east will result in a gusty northwest wind today too. Northwest winds will average 10-20 MPH with gusts reaching 25 MPH at times. Expect clear skies tonight and diminishing wind with lows dropping to around the 40° mark.
High pressure will remain in control for the day Wednesday. We'll see mostly sunny skies Wednesday with temperatures a few degrees warmer, reaching the low to mid-60s. A weak warm front will pass through the state Thursday accompanied by some cloudiness as well as a few light showers. The best chance for showers Thursday will be over northern and western locations. As the front moves through, clouds will begin to clear out later in the day. Strong high pressure will build into the region again for the end of the week and the start of the weekend. With that said, expect partly to mostly sunny skies for Friday and Saturday. Friday's highs will top off in the low and mid-60s, Saturday's highs will be in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
Today: a few lingering clouds over eastern areas early this morning, otherwise expect mostly sunny skies. Breezy. Highs between 55°-61°. Northwest wind 10-20 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH possible.
Tonight: mostly clear. Nighttime lows between 37°- 42°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH.
Wednesday: sunny and a bit milder. Highs between 60°-66°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH becoming southwest.
Thursday: mostly cloudy. A few showers possible north. Clouds will begin to clear out late in the day. Highs in the 60s.
Friday: mostly sunny with highs in the 60s.
Saturday: partly to mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
