Forecast 09-29-08

Post by Outspoken on Mon Sep 29, 2008 5:45 am

Kyle will continue to pull away from the area today. With lots of moisture in the low levels of the atmosphere, we'll be left with plenty of clouds throughout the day but as drier air slowly filters into the area, we'll see breaks of sunshine developing this afternoon. An upper level disturbance will cross the state today and could trigger a shower or two in spots as well.

A weak ridge of high pressure will build across New England to bring us a sunny Tuesday with highs in the 60s. We'll see sunshine to start out on Wednesday followed by increasing clouds as an area of low pressure moves out of the Great Lakes. Showers associated with the storm will arrive in Maine later Wednesday mainly over southern and western locations then spread across the rest of the state at night. Our weather will remain unsettled through Thursday and Friday as an upper level low spins over eastern Canada. Expect variably cloudy skies both days with a few scattered showers possible as well. Cooler air dropping southward from eastern Canada will cool things off for the end of the week. Temperatures won't get out of the 50s for most locales on Friday. We may even see a few snow showers in the higher terrain Friday night with the cooler air in place.

Today: partly to mostly cloudy. A few showers possible in spots. High temperatures between 60°-69°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Tonight: partly cloudy. Patchy fog. Nighttime lows between 45°-54°. North wind 5-10 MPH.

Tuesday: mostly sunny with highs between 60°-66°. Light and variable wind.

Wednesday: increasing clouds. Showers possible during the afternoon especially over southern and western locations. Highs in the 60s.

Thursday: mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Friday: variably cloudy with a few showers possible. Cool with highs in the 50s to around 60°.
