Forecast 09-24-08

Post by Outspoken on Wed Sep 24, 2008 5:39 am

High pressure will continue to dominate our forecast for the next couple days. With that said, expect plenty of sunshine for both today and tomorrow. High temperatures both days will top off in the 60s to around 70°. Make sure you enjoy this sunshine as changes are on the way for the end of the week into the weekend.

As the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end". That will be the case as we head into Friday and our weekend as rain is expected to move our way associated with some moisture streaming in from the tropics. Clouds will increase across the state later Thursday into Thursday night, setting the stage for a cloudy Friday. Rain will move into the state during the day Friday with the steadiest rainfall occurring during the afternoon and evening hours. Breezy conditions can be expected Friday as well with strong high pressure to our east and low pressure to our south over the Carolinas. Rain will continue during the day Saturday as tropical moisture continues to stream northward into New England. An area of low pressure moving northward over the Atlantic is forecast to pass just east of Maine on Sunday keeping the wet weather going through the second half of the weekend.

Today: mostly sunny. A few high clouds will move across northern and western locations. High temperatures will range from 62°-70°. Light and variable wind.

Tonight: mostly clear. Lows between 45°-50°. Light and variable wind.

Thursday: mostly sunny. A few high clouds will move in during the afternoon especially over southern and coastal areas. Highs between 65°-73°. South wind 7- 12 MPH.

Friday: mostly cloudy. Rain developing especially late morning into the afternoon. Breezy. Highs in the 60s.

Saturday: periods of rain. High in the 60s to near 70°.

Sunday: periods of rain. Highs in the mid-60s to low 70s.
