Forecast 08-12-08
An overcast start to this Tuesday, and sky conditions will not be improving through the day. If you live near the coast expect to see some rain either this morning or this afternoon as low pressure tracks through the Gulf of Maine and into the Bay of Fundy. While the coast will see the heaviest rain, some locations as far north as Bangor and Waterville could see some brief downpours. The rest of the viewing area should look for cloudy skies and a chance of scattered showers. High temperatures today will be below normal. Scattered showers will weaken tonight as the low exits our area. With the new moisture, fog could be a problem overnight. Lows will fall into the lower 50's.
Skies will be variably cloudy on Wednesday as we enter a transitional period between weather systems. Today's low will pull east, while a new upper level low will try and set up across western NY. Look for variably cloudy skies and high temperatures improving to the mid 70's. Our Thursday through Saturday forecast will look very good based on one condition. A storm that is moving through the southeast has to stay down to our south. At this time it looks like the bulk of it will miss us, but given the unsettled weather pattern of late the chance for a track change is still there.
Today: Showers and storms. Heaviest along the coast. High in the upper 60's to low 70's.
Tonight: Scattered showers and storms. Low in the mid 50's.
Wednesday: Showers mostly north. Gradual clearing. High in the mid to upper 70's.
Thursday: Partly cloudy. Chance of an afternoon shower or storm north. High in the 70's.
Friday: Mostly sunny. High near 80°.
Saturday: Partly cloudy. High in the upper 70's to mid 80's.
