Forecast 08-13-08
Woah! We started off this morning with some sunshine! The sun will continue through the morning, but as we approach the afternoon hours clouds will start appearing. The reason is leftover instability from the low that brought us rain yesterday. As a result look for isolated showers and storms this afternoon. There is no frontal system moving through, or any other large scale trigger for rain, so any storms that form during the afternoon will be very hit or miss. Highs today will top out in the mid to upper 70's. Variably cloudy skies will be around tonight, with lows dropping into the lower 50's. Fog is likely along the coast with a light southerly wind keeping moist air in place.
The extended forecast is still a little hazy. A low pressure system is slated to track to our south. The problem is that it is starting to trend more northerly with each sequential computer model run. With that in mind, I still think that the low will miss us for the most part. We will see increased clouds both Thursday and Friday with a chance of showers and storms on each of those nights. More settled weather moves in for the 2nd half of Saturday and all of Sunday. That's great news and means we will see mostly sunny skies and highs around 80°.
Today: Partly cloudy AM. Increased clouds and isolated showers during the afternoon. High in the mid to upper 70's.
Tonight: Variably cloudy. Low in the mid 50's.
Thursday: Variably cloudy. Chance of an afternoon showers. High in the 70's.
Friday: Variably cloudy. Showers and storms overnight are likely High near 80°.
Saturday: Becoming partly cloudy. High in the upper 70's to mid 80's.
Sunday: Mostly sunny. High around 80°.
