forecast 08-11-08

Post by Outspoken on Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:56 am

Early morning fog will be burned off, leaving us with partly to mostly cloudy skies by 10am. Areas that see sunshine will not see it for very long. Low pressure will move from western New York to just south of Long Island. It will bring heavy rain to Massachusetts and portions of Vermont, NH, and even Western Maine. We won't see the rain until the late afternoon, by which time it will be pretty scattered. Look for mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers to continue through Monday night and into Tuesday. The low will track from Long Island through the Gulf of Maine. This puts us under the gun for another round of showers and storms during the afternoon on Tuesday. Showers and storms could be intense at some times, dropping a significant amount of heavy rain over a short period of time. The most affected area on Tuesday looks to be downeast. The low moves NE of Nova Scotia by Wednesday, so look for gradual clearing Wednesday with the best chance of showers off to the north.

Today: Increasing clouds. Afternoon showers and storms. High in the upper 60's to mid to upper 70's.

Tonight: Scattered showers and storms. Low in the mid 50's.

Tuesday: Showers and storms likely. High in the upper 60's to mid 70's.

Wednesday: Showers mostly north. Gradual clearing. High in the mid to upper 70's.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. High in the 70's.

Friday: Mostly sunny. High near 80°.
