Forecast 07-07-08

Post by Outspoken on Mon Jul 07, 2008 5:54 am

High pressure anchored near Bermuda will continue to pump the warm and humid air into New England over the next couple days. We'll start with some low clouds and fog this morning but this is expected to burn off quickly early this morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies for the remainder of the day.

Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday with highs near 80° along the coast, mid to upper 80s inland. Tonight will feature some quiet weather under partly cloudy skies. Areas of low clouds and fog will likely redevelop tonight especially along the coastal counties. Low clouds and fog early Tuesday morning will burn off and give way to another sunny, warm and humid day. There may be a few clouds around as a cold front approaches from the north and west but all in all, sunshine is expected to prevail Tuesday.

A cold front is forecast to move through the state Wednesday afternoon and night. Moisture ahead of the front will move in to give us a mostly cloudy day Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon and evening hours with the frontal passage. West/northwesterly winds in the week of the front will usher a cooler, less humid airmass into the region for the end of the week Thursday and Friday.

Today: areas of low clouds and fog early this morning then mostly sunny, warm and muggy. Highs near 80° along the coast, mid to upper 80s inland. Southwest wind 8-15 MPH.

Tonight: partly cloudy with patchy fog for inland locations, mostly cloudy with areas of fog for the coastal counties. Lows between 60°-67°. Light southwest wind.

Tuesday: areas of low clouds and fog early, then partly to mostly sunny, warm and humid. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible, mainly over northern and western locations. Highs between 80°- 90°, coolest along the coast. South/southwest wind 10-15 MPH.

Wednesday: mostly cloudy. Scattered showers and thunderstorms especially during the afternoon. Very humid. Highs between 79°-86°.

Thursday: partly cloudy. A morning shower possible up north. Highs in the mid-70s to around 80°.

Friday: partly cloudy with highs in the mid-70s to around 80.
