Some of the thunderstorms may become severe with heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail. The showers and thunderstorms will continue to move through the state this evening, winding down around midnight or so as the front clears the state. Winds behind the front will turn to the west/northwest, ushering a less humid airmass into the region late tonight .

A secondary cold front will cross the state Wednesday afternoon and could trigger a shower or thunderstorm in spots, otherwise expect a partly to mostly sunny and warm Wednesday. Humidity levels will continue to drop throughout the day Wednesday as well. High pressure building east from the Great Lakes will bring sunny skies to Maine Thursday and Friday.
