Forecast 06-02-08
Clouds and showers will stick around this morning as an upper level disturbance swings through the state. Drier air located to our west will move in on the backside of the disturbance this afternoon. So expect drier and brighter conditions to arrive this afternoon as the disturbance moves off to our east. Temperatures will be seasonable with highs in the 60s to near 70° this afternoon. An approaching cold front could bring a few showers into northern locales tonight, otherwise expect variably cloudy skies tonight and mainly dry conditions.
A cold front will cross the state Tuesday and be off to our east by early afternoon or so. This could bring us a few more showers Tuesday especially over northern areas. Otherwise expect variably cloudy skies across the state for Tuesday. The cold front will stall out just to our south later Tuesday then act as a track for the next storm headed our way for Tuesday night and Wednesday. An area of low pressure riding along the stalled front will move out of the Great Lakes region Tuesday night then through New England Wednesday and Wednesday night. As the storm moves through, we'll see periods of rain Wednesday, some of it falling heavily at times. Rain will wind down Wednesday night as the storm moves east of the state.
High pressure building into the region will bring us lots of sun on Thursday. The ridge of high pressure will stick around to keep things sunny and dry Friday as well with highs near 70°.
Today: scattered showers possible thru early afternoon then becoming partly sunny. High temperatures will range from 61°-71°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH becoming southwest.
Tonight: partly to mostly cloudy. Scattered showers possible, mainly north. Overnight lows between 47°- 54°. Southwest wind 5-10 MPH.
Tuesday: morning showers possible especially up north, otherwise expect partly sunny skies. Highs between 67°-77°. Northwest wind 10-15 MPH.
Wednesday: periods of rain. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Thursday: mostly sunny with highs in the mid-60s to near 70°.
Friday: mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the 60s to around 70°.
