Forecast 05-30-08
We've got a beautiful sunny day on tap for today. High pressure centered to our north and west this morning will slide through the region, giving us lots of sunshine today and seasonable temperatures. Make sure you enjoy the sunshine today because we've got clouds and rain headed our way for the weekend. An area of low pressure will travel through northern New England Saturday then through Maine Saturday night. This storm will bring us wet, breezy and cool conditions Saturday. Expect periods of rain for the entire day, winding down Saturday night as the storm crosses northern Maine. With the clouds and rain in place, Saturday's temperatures will be cool with highs in the mid-50s to around 60°. Rainfall totals by the time it all winds down will average .5"to 1" across the state.
Upper level energy over the area Sunday and Monday will keep things rather cloudy and bring us the chance for a few showers. Temperatures will mainly be in the 60s Sunday but with a few breaks of sun possible, we could see some low 70s in spots. Skies will brighten a bit Monday after some morning showers. A weak disturbance passing through the area Tuesday could still give us a shower in spots.
Today: sunny skies with highs between 62°-72°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH becoming southwest this afternoon.
Tonight: becoming cloudy. Showers developing, mainly late. Lows in the 40s. South wind 5-10 MPH becoming southeast.
Saturday: periods of rain. Breezy and cool. Highs between 55°-62°. South/southeasterly wind 10-18 MPH.
Sunday: variably cloudy. Scattered showers. Highs in the mid-60s to low 70s.
Monday: mostly cloudy during the morning with a few morning showers possible, then becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the 60s.
Tuesday: partly cloudy with a few scattered showers possible. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.
