ELLSWORTH, Maine - The Free Christian Society & Church, 3 Gary Moore Road, is offering free "rough it" tenting on its 3.4 acres.

The church has placed an ad on Craig’s List, a free online advertising service, to let vacationers headed Down East know about it.

"We’re offering Christian fellowship that does not end on Sunday mornings," the Rev. Rick Garland, church pastor, said.

Campers are required to call in advance to reserve a space and a time slot.

A portable toilet is provided but no pets are allowed.

Services are held at 11 a.m. Sundays and campers are invited to attend.

The church is located just past the Green Lake Fish Hatchery on the corner of Route 180 and Gray Moore Road.
