HALLOWELL -- The Maine School Administrative District 16 Board of Directors continued the process of transitioning to the Kennebec Intra-District Schools Regional School Unit 2, the governing board that will oversee five different districts once the school consolidation goes into effect next summer.
Newly elected RSU 2 member Sarah McNaughton, of Hallowell, attended Wednesday night's school board meeting.
She was joined by Pamela MacDonald, who was elected Tuesday to serve a six-month term on the Hall-Dale school board before the RSU 2 board takes over July 1, 2009.
Dawn Gallagher was elected as Hallowell's other representative on the RSU 2 board.
In Farmingdale, Linda Leet and Jon Lambert -- both current members of the MSAD 16 Board of Directors -- were elected to represent their community on the consolidated school board next year.
Donald Siviski, Hall-Dale's superintendent, said there is a tentative meeting planned for the new 12-member RSU 2 board Dec. 9 at Hall-Dale Elementary School, pending the state's authorization.
