Hillina Sawyer could be relaxing in her new home spa or sleeping in her new bed as soon as Saturday.
The 41-year-old Orrington resident won the two prizes worth a combined $7,195 in a June 30 appearance on the television game show "The Price is Right." The show aired Friday morning.
Sawyer doesn’t have her prizes yet but could get them any day now. Winners must sign a release stating they will not reveal the outcome of the show before it’s aired. Prizes are delivered after the airdate.
Sawyer said she has always wanted a hot tub, but once she got a look at the queen-size sleigh bed, she knew she wanted it.
Sawyer won the bed in the first round of the game show, during which four contestants estimate the cost of items. Her estimate was the closest without going over — she estimated $1 on the $2,400 sleigh bed — which meant she won the bed and the right to compete in the second round.
"I was really excited," she said. "I was like, ‘Wow, I actually won that?’"
In that round, during which contestants play one of several estimation games, Sawyer correctly guessed the cost of the hot tub, which seats four people. She guessed $5,175 during the game "Pushover."
She then advanced to another round during which she had to spin a giant wheel twice, hoping to land on two numbers, the combination of which should equal $1 or less. Sawyer stalled there, however, after two spins of a giant wheel put her 5 cents over the goal.
