AUGUSTA -- The Planning Board meets tonight to hold public hearings on proposals for a new office building on Town and Country Road, more parking at St. Augustine Church, an addition onto a Riverside Drive apartment building, and a proposed change to the city's sign ordinance.

Mary S. Davidson submitted a preliminary application to build a three-story, 8,000-square-foot office building, with 24,200 square feet of associated parking and other paved areas, on a 22-acre lot on Town and Country Road.

Town and Country Road is off Capitol Street. The proposed site is adjacent to Kennedy Brook, in two zones: business and professional and low-density residential, according to city documents.

The site, according to application materials, is currently grass and woodlands, with 12,000 square feet used as a gravel storage area.

Tonight's meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the lecture hall at Augusta City Center.
