no way

This was just sent to me by someone who's teasing me about our weather. They live in Texas.
So tell me, is this really true? I've never heard about this.

Wife Carrying
Championships!

On Saturday, Oct. 6, men carried their wives or other women
over an obstacle course where teams compete for a grand prize
of the wife's weight in Redhook beer and five times the wife's
weight in cash, plus a chance to compete in the World
Championships in Finland. 2006 winners John and Tess
Farra of Owasso, Oklahoma set the crowd on fire with a narrow victory in the final heat and a course record of 1:15.1. The Farra's overcame fierce competition from 35 teams-- including the
Canadian National Champions -- who's fortunes took a turn for
the worse with a disasterous slip in the water trough early in
their qualification heat. Here's the video..

It is true. I posted an article about it at the old KV. It's pretty funny to watch. I suppose that's one way to support your wife. rollover rollover Shocked
